This is a critical advisory and affects all networks
Imagine all your network traffic gets surreptitiously diverted to Africa before it reaches you! Then an attackers can sniff all your password, sensitive files and confidential data putting your business at high risk. Two researchers at the Defcon 16 security conference demonstrated this scenario as a new "man in the middle" attack which allows interception of the traffic of an IP prefix by sending fake BGP (Border Gateway Protocol) routing packets on the wire. DNS Vulnerability Advisory Alert
This is a critical advisory and affects most companies
DNS vulnerability affects almost everyone on the Internet. A fundamental flaw in the design of how Internet addresses (URL) are routed can severely impact you. Consider this: When you type www.google.com, this flaw can result in your affected DNS server taking you to a malicious site potentially opening you to viruses, malwares and security attacks. Every website you visit goes bad, every email you send could go someplace else. |
