Way back in early 2004 iViZ was born in one of the prestigious institutes of India – IIT Kharagpur. The mission of iViZ was to innovate security technologies that would help organizations and enterprises to protect their information assets pro-actively. Today we are proud that we havebeen able to keep up to our mission and contribute in a big way to redefine the approach to security testing. As a first step towards this approach we have launched On Demand penetration testing based around the concept of SaaS (Security as a service)* [*SaaS is often referred to software as a service, but we call SaaS as "security as a service" essence being security scanning delivered on demand, affordable and periodically] Lets have a quick look into what we achieved so far in terms of technology and business model innovation.
iViZ has developed the Industry’s first On Demand Penetration Testing which can emulate the intelligence of a human attacker to find out attack vectors missed out by normal scanners and manual methodology.
Technology for Penetration Testing
iViZ technology evaluates the security of a computer system/network by simulating all kinds of next-generation hacking techniques. It finds out all possible ways by which an intruder can enter a computer system/network. This analysis is carried out from the position of a potential hacker, and can involve active exploitation of security vulnerabilities. Any security issues that are found are presented to the system owner together with an assessment of their impact and with a proposal for a technical solution. The intent of a penetration test is to determine feasibility of an attack and the amount of business impact of a successful exploit, if discovered. The iViZ certification serves as recognition of an organization’s commitment towards its clients and also builds the essential faith for conducting business safely with them. At present, iViZ is addressing a global market that is over $10 billion in size and growing annually at about 18 per cent.
What is unique about iViZ?
Organizations need to conduct penetration testing and security audit on a periodic basis. However, the existing processes involve significant amount of manual components and cannot enumerate all possible ways in which a human hacker may enter a computer system/network. Unlike existing penetration techniques, the iViZ technology detects vulnerabilities and suggests remedies in a completely automated way. This automated mechanism determines security threats in more efficient ways than top ‘human’ hackers. The automated mechanism also aids in conducting penetration testing without hiring expensive security consultants. This enables an organization to conduct periodic penetration testing and achieve better return on investment (ROI).This is what sets iViZ apart from the rest!
Raising Funds!
iViZ bagged a $2.5-million investment from IDG Ventures, a global network of venture capital funds. IDG Ventures is a $150-million organisation and has a portfolio of over 220 companies.“iViZ has built a highly committed and innovative team whose first product has already generated significant market traction and is well positioned,” said Sudhir Sethi, chairman and managing director, IDG Ventures India.Now, iViZ plans to utilise this investment to build and expand its sales and marketing team in North America, Europe, West Asia and India
